Project overview

A February–April 2025 engagement combining an operations support internship with separately scoped paid freelance assistance. GoldenSun Ltd and SunShoppers UK are distinct businesses. This work focused on the practical coordination required to move imported goods through suppliers, UK warehouses, third-party logistics and online marketplaces.

The business challenge

Cross-border product flows involved multiple hand-offs: Indian suppliers, shipping and documentation, inbound receiving, warehouse intake and final-mile fulfilment. Reliance on outside logistics partners made clear documentation, status reporting and stock reconciliation especially important.

My role & scope

Operations support and freelance assistance across import coordination, supplier communication, 3PL follow-ups, marketplace administration and reporting. Responsibilities were supportive and cross-functional rather than sole ownership of every customs or delivery decision.

How the work was approached

01 / Supplier and import coordination

Followed up with India-linked suppliers, considered backup sourcing, and supported coordination of shipping paperwork and delivery information.

02 / Warehouse receiving

Helped align inbound delivery information with receiving processes and physical stock records.

03 / Third-party fulfilment

Coordinated with warehouse and 3PL partners, and supported UK last-mile workflows involving carriers such as Evri, Royal Mail and DHL.

04 / Marketplace operations

Worked around Shopify, Amazon and eBay backend processes so order flows and inventory records could be checked together.

05 / Reporting and knowledge transfer

Supported Excel dashboards, AWS-supported operational reporting, SOP documentation, process improvements and staff handover/training.

Outcomes & highlights

100%Reported on-time customer order fulfilment during measured handover period
90%Reported on-time inbound deliveries to the 3PL warehouse
99%Reported supplier availability
All SKUsPhysical-to-system inventory reconciled at handover

At the project handover, the business reported 100% on-time customer order fulfilment within the measured period, 90% on-time 3PL inbound warehouse deliveries, 99% supplier availability and complete physical-to-system inventory reconciliation across SKUs. These figures reflect that particular reporting window, not lifetime performance. Demand forecasting supported replenishment decisions and monthly sales met or exceeded forecast volumes; this is not a claim of 100% forecast accuracy.

What this project demonstrates

Cross-border operations are often won or lost at the hand-off. Supplier status, paperwork, warehouse intake and marketplace stock records all need a shared process to prevent small discrepancies becoming customer issues.
